Dean's Message
The Faculty of Architecture and Design was established by the coming together of the Departments of Industrial Design and Fashion Design at the School of Industrial Arts, Architecture at the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture, and Interior Architecture at the Faculty of Fine Arts. These departments have come together with a new vision and mission with their deep-rooted design education cultures and expert staff. Our faculty successfully carries out the activities of education, research and community service with its expert academic and administrative staff.
Our Faculty of Architecture and Design aims to raise individuals who care about nature while designing innovative products and places, who have well-developed aesthetic sensitivities, who can apply computer and information technologies to design processes, who have professional responsibilities and universal values, who think analytically and give priority to the environment, people and society, and who have creative and self-confidence. I would like to proudly state that our faculty has a competent academic staff that can achieve this goal, and has a technological infrastructure for the students to develop their technical knowledge and skills throughout the education period. Workshops, exhibitions, fashion shows, seminars, conferences, research studies and study trips within this scope are considered as an integral part of the education process in the departments of our Faculty. Every year, with its qualified graduates who are recognized both at national and international level, our Faculty of Architecture and Design sends off to professional life our graduates who have the competence to make original designs that shape the future of our country and the world. Our young people who graduate from our departments of Industrial Design, Interior Architecture, Architecture, and Fashion Design will have the essential qualifications that can compete with their peers on a global scale. As a faculty, our general approach is not to be valuable, but to try to create values. Therefore, each and every one of our graduates has a significant value in our eyes, and each has a special place for us. It is our greatest motivation that our students, whom we contribute to their education, are useful individuals to the society, our country and the world.
