Accreditation

Our department was accredited by the "Architecture Accreditation Board - MİAK" in 2008 for a period of 2 years, and in 2010 for a period of 3 years.

Our department has been the first accredited Department of Architecture among the departments of Architecture in Turkey. (www.miak.org) (www.miak.org)

Duration of Education

It includes 1 year of optional English Prep-School and 4 years of undergraduate education.

Courses

The courses in the curriculum are divided into 4 groups as basic, complementary, vocational elective and elective courses.

The courses of the Department of Architecture are carried out within the majors of Building Science, Structural Science, Restoration, History of Architecture.

With the purpose of gaining experience in relation to business life, at the end of their second and third years, students do internship at the construction site and at office.

Workshop and Laboratories

The basic courses of the Department of Architecture are mainly carried out in project workshops. Besides, the computers, models, and paint workshops are well-equipped for students to carry out their studies.

Graduation and Employment Opportunities

Graduates of our department can work in public institutions and private sector. They can take part at various levels in the design, implementation and supervision of all types of structures. They can also conduct research and lecture at universities as academicians.

Collaborations

The Department of Architecture has the opportunity to develop and carry out various projects with the private sector, public institutions and organizations, other universities and professional organizations.

Research projects supported by Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (STRCT), State Planning Organization (SPT), University Research Fund (URF) and SAN-TEZ research projects supported by industry are carried out by the faculty members of the department.
